ABS light goes off after pumping brakes

Hi,

I have a Toyota Avensis 2005

My ABS light recently came on. It comes on when starting the engine. Brake fluid level is fine. If I pump the brakes a few times then restart the light goes off for a while then comes on the next day.

Any idea what it might be? Thanks

A fault.

Have it scanned for codes in the ABS system, as any other route will be far more difficult.

And an MOT failure most likely.

Although the description is vague.

The light should of course come on, Key on. It would do it's first checks and then go out.

If the light is on, there will be codes stored. Trying to diagnose by testing sensors or wiring individually is futile as a first step. Get the codes.
