transfer of stuff to new PC

My current PC is 32 bit, the new one is 64. Problem yes/no.
I looked at PC mover for the transfer, any alternatives ?
I went to PC mover home page to look at FAQs etc and I got a pop up from my malware prog...not encouraging

What do you need to move? I tend to reinstall software, and restore my files from backup (handy test backup is working properly).

Get new computer.
Install any extra software required
Restore from backup.

I've used deja backup for three new computer/mend old one type moves, and it just does it, no bother.

Is it applications or data you're transferring and how much?

I never bulk transfer, it's a good excuse to sort rubbish out!

I'd always reinstall applications regardless.

Take what you're working on, stick old PC in the loft, start again!
