Insurance when car changing

Previously have insured with Tesco who allowed short term cover on the same policy when I have been changing cars for circa 6 weeks at minimal cost.

Currently need to renew and insured with M***th&n who wouldnt do the same last year when changing cars - so I needed a new policy for the new car and then cancelled after a short term when old car was sold and new car transfered to 'old' policy.

Not a trader but wondering who else will provide short term cover for two cars for short periods?

There are dedicated short term insurers which might help assuming you don’t want to just cancel your existing policy.

To expand this would let you change to the new car on your main policy and insure your old car short term separately.
