Heated Body Warmers for the wife.

Mrs Steve has expressed an interest in a battery powered heated body warmer, seems to be a lot of makes on a Amazon I’ve never heard of, and can’t find them in mainstream shops etc so wondered if any PH member could offer advice or suggestions based on their experiences or those of somebody they know?

I bought one for after lockdown when we had to sit outside in the pub ! Works really well and too hot on hottest setting, used it again this weekend to watch my son play football outside.

I just bought the jacket and a separate battery- 10,000mah and it lasts hours.

Still works 12 months later, it was like this one (same logo on the on/off button.)

Regatta have started selling them. I'm sure they're a lot more expensive than the Chinese Amazon versions, but at least you can walk into a store and check them out first.

Look for motorcycle gear. There are quite a few suppliers of heated clothing.

I was wearing my motorbiking Keis one yesterday at an outdoor Christmas market. It's 12v and usually plugged into the bike, but I've a separate LiPo power pack for use when walking around. Nice and toasty. Not cheap though.

I am sat typing this in my Milwaukee heated jacket.

Its the heavy duty one but they do sell heated hoodies and I think a hard shell for ladies too.

I run 4 batteries on mine, 1 is OE and the other 3 are larger capacity ones from Amazon. The OE one lasts about 2 hours on high the larger ones about 3 hours. On medium add an hour and on low another hour.

I only really wear mine in work and other than a few welding holes on the arms when I forgot to take it off when doing a bit of welding its lasted very well although carrying a few extra battle scars here and there now.

I think its 3-4 years old now. Batteries still hold good charge, it gets washed once every couple of weeks. Has decent water proofing etc.

The only down side is it is very heavy and has no hood. It comes out every November and I will wear it through till March.

Wise to check out sizing first. I bought a Chinese eBay one for about 25 quid, having been prompted by a thread over on Biker Banter.

It works, but is tiny. I'm an XL in all clothes sizes, rarely does that not fit me perfectly. Ordered this in XL, it is more like a medium.

If it were more expensive I would return it but I couldn't be arsed. The missus has therefore bagged it and wears it on school playground duty, she loves it!

I bought an Amazon heated gilet. Conqueo was the brand I think. Use it lots!
Only issues is that it was slightly too big. Needs to properly hug you. Other was that it used an outdated connection method to the battery so you can't swap batteries. Find one with a standard USB connection. The battery was a bit of a duffer. Best to buy without battery and choose your own
