Waterproof trainers. Suggestions?

I need some waterproof trainers to walk the dogs with.

My Merrell Moab Gore-tex did the trick but didn't last very long before splitting and now the new pup has chewed them to pieces.

I'm not looking at boots as I like to tie the trainers loosely and slip them off and on when needed. Wellies will do in the meantime.

Any recommendations?

Mountain Warehouse Mens Curlew walking shoes - Been using them for a few years now as a gardener and a handyman - excellent waterproofing when new, still pretty good after a years daily abuse and like you I can alternate between tied tight and slip-on.

Adidas Terex Gore-tex, can get them for around £60/£70 in the sale.

You can slip them on/off easily, are warm and they have never leaked in 3 years of 1hr daily dog walking duties.

These might just be the thing I need. My wellies are muck boots and are super comfy. Ta.

Alongside the Adidas Terrex Gore-tex, Nike also do a decent Air Pegasus Gore-tex trainer.

Salomon trail running shoes are great. Waterproof, grippy and have a quick lace system which makes putting on and off very easy.

I've had a pair of Arcteryx Aerios FL Mid GTX since January and walked about 1400 miles in them in all sorts of wet/muddy walks and they're holding up pretty well. Very waterproof and reasonably comfy (although quite stiff). You can get them in shoe or the 'Mid' design which is halfway between shoe and a boot.

This, my pair are 4 years old and have been nailed all over snowdonia, Brecon Beacons, Arizona,
Europe etc. Superb. Way better than the TNF, merrel and others I had before, I will only replace with another pair

I have given up with waterproof footwear as they all invariably fail in keeping your foot dry or your feet sweat do much they are wet anyway.

I now wear Bridgedale waterproof socks,they feel a bit strange initially but they work for me and I don’t have to limit my footwear choice.

Just taking our dog out in the pissing rain..been using karrimor waterproof trek shows for years.

I would have thought waterproof socks would make your feet sweat just as much if not more than waterproof trainers?

Why? You could say the same about a pair of trainers that don't keep your feet dry. Yes, cheaper alternatives exist but are they better? The Muckboot wellies I have are the most comfy I've ever had and worh every penny IMHO.
