Low mile 911 SC abandoned
Discussion
A lady on the Porsche Facebook group bought a garage at auction, only to discover a low mile 1981 SC tucked up in it.
She can’t get any help from the DVLA or police who the owner is, now has the V5 in her name.

It’s probably fake story.
Don’t think so, the lady has a long established Facebook account and kept up with the post, answering questions. The newspaper has Klopp on the front cover, and some bright spark suggests the headline is post 2016/2017 - so the car probably only been in the garage 4 or 5 years, there is also a ‘67 VW battle in there.
She has contacted reading Porsche, DVLA and the police and none will help her with previous owner details.

I assume the lady choose to sell the car.
Fortunately the car hasnt been sold yet !
I hve left messages for some of the family today and even if the guy who owns it has now since passed (dont think he has) it he is survived by a wife and daughter so hopefully we will get the right outcombe.
Have also been intouch with teh people who have the garages.

Otherwise I’m going to have to fill in the gaps myself. Probably something along the lines of infamous career criminal that’s done a runner or been locked up….

If you buy a garage, do you own what’s in it?
IANAL but depends upon the terms of the sale I reckon. By default, doubtful. You'd be buying it with vacant possession. That means the seller would be liable to remove anything within it, be that rubbish or a valuable Porsche.
But if the garage was sold "as seen" or "with any contents" I would have thought a claim could be made for ownership. I'd fully expect the owner or heir to put up a fight, though, if they'd accidentally left a Porsche in there and later realised.

Ha Ha !!Otherwise I’m going to have to fill in the gaps myself. Probably something along the lines of infamous career criminal that’s done a runner or been locked up….

I havent got to the bottom of it myself yet but will be more than happy to post the outcombe assuming the owner or the family are happy to do so.
I knew the guy for the first 20 years of my life (no relation!!) and he and family were a great bunch and very kind to me. Feel like I need to do the right thing on this whatever the situation ... even if he was locked up or worse !!
