Would you buy this van?
Discussion
Had an advisory about an oil leak on its last MOT along with warnings that both front brake cables are corroded or covered in gunk.

Just need a little run around for doing occasional deliveries from my ebay business to the post office.
What do you reckon?!
many thanks

Certainly looks pretty clean from a far. Brake pipes are an cheap fix. Think it's the same/similar engine to my Mondeo, don't think they are known for oil leaks but it has done 233K miles.
I'm sure if something happened you could still get a few hundred back even if it was not running that well !

I reckon you you'd be better off buying an MPV, you'll get a very decent one for your budget.

Same engine as the focus. They're an odd mix of mk1 and mk2 focus if I recall correctly.I'm sure if something happened you could still get a few hundred back even if it was not running that well !
I had a focus with the 1.8TDCi, was ok, only fault I had was a split intercooler boot, but that was when it was 4 years old, and 60k miles.

I don't know the answer, but I've often wondered. There's signage in Nottingham that (apparently) allows vans where cars aren't. Is this really a thing, or am I being too literal? (i.e. would an MPV be allowed?) If so, an MPV wouldn't be a good call (there must be other places with similar signage)
