Anyone drive / own an X2?
Discussion
Found myself looking at them over the last few days. I know the reviews say the X1 is better all rounder but it’s just too mumsey for me.
So I’ve bought one today, so another BMW model to tick off the list.
Anyone own one ? What are they like to drive, I’ve gone for a 20i auto M Sport

You dodged a bullet with the X1 I had one for two weeks while they sorted the cocked up order for my X3 the road noise at speed was horrendous it’s a known problem. A mate of mine has the X2 and loves it So I’ve bought one today, so another BMW model to tick off the list.

I had one as a loan car from BMW while my 330 was waiting for parts, 2 weeks in total. X2 2.0d xDrive MSport. Big blue brakes etc - maxed out on spec.
Firstly, the gas pedal is offset to the right which combined with the high bolsters on the seats left me with a numb thigh after 20 minutes driving - no amount of playing with seat adjustment could change this.
Handling. Hmmmm. The most “Audi-like” BMW I’ve ever driven. Nose heavy, understeery, and inert. Not at all like driving a BMW. Now, I might be able to tolerate that if it rode well and soaked up bumps, but with M sport suspension and 20” rims the ride quality real isn’t good either.
Space. Oh dear. The boot on my 3 series saloon has more space, and the rear seats have about the same leg room. This car felt cramped on the inside despite being quite large in the outside.
Good equipment levels as you’d expect..
I went through the BMW configurator / costing tool: This was over £55k as driven. Ouch!
My wife has the 220i Active Tourer in Luxury spec, and that is IMO a better car in most ways. Better comfort, more space, slightly nicer in terms of handling & steering.
Sorry, but not for me! Factoring in price, it’s not a car I’d chose. I’d take a 5 series over the X2 any day.

Well after just 4 weeks of ownership i today did a deal to upgrade to a G01 X3.
I’ve had 3 previous X3’s but not the later shape so quite looking forward to it .
The X2 was just a little disappointing Round town it was a nice little car, but it had a few niggles. One being the 3rd seat belt hung down from the roof like a old Vauxhall or Nissan. If felt it had been built by an accountant, it felt cheap. The Engine and gearbox was lovely, but at speed it felt like the windows were open and the sound deadening had been removed. It also felt front wheel drive (yes I know it is) it just felt built to a price.
If it was a second car for the wife then I could accept it, alas just wasn’t the car for me.
