Merry Christmas. What You Doing?
Discussion
Merry Christmas one and all

I used to despise this time of the year, but in my old age came to appreciate some aspects of it.
Working Christmas Eve then driving to the Inlaws in the middle of nowheresville for big fam (15 peeps) do. Four days off (hopefully very very drunk
) then back to work on 29th. It's the one time of the year that I actually enjoy cooking. Got Jamie Oliver's Christmas recipes on my Evernote, which works out really well.
How about you?

I'd love to have a chef in the family! Her boyfriend is an Executive Head Chef, last year he did them beef wellington, I am very much looking forward to Christmas lunch.
Round the Mrs's cousins for the big day for us which will be quite nice. Got my parents around Boxing Day.
Just us at home. Sooooo looking forward to it!
I'm picking up a 42 day rolled fillet of Welsh Black beef on 22nd.
My kids, two boys, 11 and 9, are having gammon from my pig farmer pal.
Steak and frites with locally sourced green beans for the grown ups. Gammon steaks, frites and my own version of beans for the boys.
I'm making figgy puddings, one laced with brandy for the grown ups, one laced with cherry coke for the kids. Served with home made pecan ice cream.
Then? A snooze followed by a fire in the pit in the garden under cover with blankets and more brandy for Mrs TH and a few Dylan Thomas Penderyn's for me.
All accompanied by major tunes.
No TV.

Small point of order, but a fillet doesn't need rolling. It's already tubular. Unless you are being sold sirloin as fillet.I'm picking up a 42 day rolled fillet of Welsh Black beef on 22nd.

I just did a full on Roast Turkey dinner for all my wife's family at Thanksgiving and they all enjoyed it so much, they've voted (themselves) to come back to mine for Christmas.
As it never gets really cold here, I'll be doing them BBQ.
Brisket, ribs, sausage, tater salad. mac & cheese etc.
