I was hoping to make a pole but gods knows how to!
Does anyone have a cleaner? I want to get one as I hate cleaning and I’m not wanting to spend my days off doing it.
It would also make me tidy up more rather as it the cleaner wouldn’t be able to clean with stuff in the way.
Mentioned it to my other half who has taken it personally that she can’t keep the flat clean, saying she’d be embarrassed by the mess. She didn’t seem to get the point it’s one less thing to do and they aren’t too expensive around here.
I might just get one and not tell her and take the credit for it!

). My mother and father did the cleaning when I was a child. My in-laws would have someone to help out.
We’ve engaged cleaners for years now. Our current cleaners have been looking after us for years.
Though they do 4 person hours a week (2 people for one hour at a time, twice a week). This for a 4 bed house. Do the occasional deep clean each year.
Money very well spent..!

Ours has been with us for 7 years now and does about 8 hours / week.
Mrs Magnum & I both have demanding & time consuming jobs plus we have 2 young children. There is no way we’re spending free time cleaning the house, when we could spend that time with our family.
You have to consider your priorities for time when you’re not at work……

Well seeing as the question is do you have a cleaner, my answer is no.
Pretty much do all the cleaning at the weekend, the kids make the house dirty as well so it's only right they get stuck in too and help and hence why it's a quick and organised routine.
Even with a biggish house it doesn't take long, we aren't messy people. Nothing against those that do, but I'd rather save the money and spend it elsewhere.

Same here. Best one we had was an older lady, but she retired. She was really good - thorough, and always turned up on time. The ones we have had since are bloody useless in comparison. They get about 90% of it done fine, but persistently miss the same few bits of dusting. Every week. 
One thing we’ve never had an issue with though is honesty. Never once had anything go missing.

So now we live in a messy house with dust everywhere and my mrs grumbles that I never hoover
Moving house in January and she starts a new job the week after so I will be suggesting getting a cleaner again!

Went through about seven in the space of 2 years but had our current one for 17 years. She also doe's the washing and ironing, feeds the cat when we are on holiday, and has not had a day off sick in 17 years. Drives me mental sometimes as she hides things that are left out and misses a few small things but she makes life so much easier. Really brought home how much she does when we had to do it ourselves in lockdown.

Agreed - don't have one any more. But post-Covid hybrid WFH means it's pretty easy to keep on top of it. Little and often is the key to make cleaning a routine rather than a weekend task.
Took about 5 attempts to find someone that was half decent and turned up when they were meant to as it makes life easier.
3 kids at home, 2 under 2 its just not a great use of mine or the Mrs time and helps when you come home and the house is semi tidy once or twice a week.
If using a cleaner you will have better results with a cleaner who is the business and its them that come out rather than subbing out to people.

The upside of having cleaners is that, if you live with my wife and daughter, the house can easily send into serious untidiness in no time. I have no idea why they find tidying up such a challenge.
Having cleaners forces you to ensure the house is tidy so they can actually clean. Unfortunately Mrs OMITN seems to have allowed Christmas decorating and some busy weekends at dance competitions with daughter for her to leave mess strewn everywhere.
Cleaners are here tomorrow and I refuse to have this frankly council mess any longer..!

Me and Mrs. do it all ourselves. It's not a massive task and doesn't take that long. She does the ironing on a Sunday evening, says she doesn't mind it and finds it relaxing. Ours is a four bed house with five adults living in it (although the kids can do their own rooms). After I sold my business and was at a loose end I did all the cleaning while Mrs. was at work - thought it a doddle really, including three bathrooms. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
