Moist flaps

As in the velcro patches where the roof is fastened to the car just behind teh drivers and passengers head. I treated the entire roof with thompsons the other night but still seems to be where the waters coming through, how many coats does it normally take to get fully protected again?

Did a commute in the constant rain today and the chim was fine, I was wondering what it would be like commuting through central london at a blistering 5mph for an hour or so with speed bumps/narrow roads etc and it was fine.
Could it be I love this car even more.......

Were the flaps damp at the time of treatment? may not have treated properly otherwise

No they were dry, going to give it another coat this weekend.

3-4, as many as you like really, it can only help.

Chimaeras have a bad habbit of leaking through just in front of the door open button. Basically the top furthest back point of the door, where there should be a little rubber corner sealed on (about where your right shoulder sits). My Chim is missing both of these, and does let in water a fair bit.

If it's a pool in the driver footwell, then maybe it's worth checking the brake resovior (spelling??) seals, the bulkhead grommets and also the heater/cooler intakes.

do you have the "elephant ear" rubber flaps under the velcro and are they fitted correctly? The majority of leaking behind seats is caused by these missing or not fitted correctly

If you do a search on elephant ears it should throw up something. I have the template if you want to e-mail me. I cut mine out of some bicycle inner tube.
I could post it if someone tells me how to ( I know I should know by now).

Right then, does seem to be the ears problem and I havnt got any. All the links and pics in the old threads are dead can anyone repost or email them to me.
