Morning All,
Below is an image of how I found my macan yesterday evening. A strange hardened black stuff all down the front. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? Tried washing off with car cleaner but did nothing.

I would be using something like a very strong degreaser on that ASAP - looks like a tar-like substance from the pics to me ... is it sticky??Below is an image of how I found my macan yesterday evening. Does it have an odour?
Was there anything dripping from above?
Have you also tried neat washing up liquid? Its not ideal but it may work, and then cleanse the paintwork properly/prep/wax etc.
Thanks for the reply.

Nope its not sticky at all. Fully hardened.

No odour at all.

Nope - nothing dripping down from above.

Tried neat washing up liquid last night, but didn't even dent it.
Cheers.

The car was fine on Saturday afternoon, so I don't think its long enough for it to have rusted. Will take it to a body work place and let you know what they say. Weird...
Also it seems to be on top of the paint or alongside it. When you run your finger over it, you can feel it goes upwards.

It wouldn't have rusted naturally in that time, but if a chemical was used it could cause that kind of reactionAlso it seems to be on top of the paint or alongside it. When you run your finger over it, you can feel it goes upwards.

I've seen bird s
t like that before on a car. Get it off immediately. Hot cloth and soak. If it proves tricky, leave the cloth on it and pour some extra water onto the cloth from a freshly boiled kettle and wait some more. Hopefully it has not etched the paintwork underneath.
Has your car been cermaic coated at all ?

Not ceramic coated as far as I know.
Took the car to a body work dealer. They said they'd never seen anything like it before. Reckoned it was acid or bird poo. The paint had started to bubble underneath, which you could make out from this photo.
Guess I'll never know for sure, but reckon bird poo is the most likely given it happened there or in a secure underground car park.
