I watched it yesterday with my kids and it was truly, truly AWFUL. I can’t even think of adjectives which can adequately describe just how bad it was. Even my 12 yr old daughter said “is this a spoof, or is it really this cheesy”.
The sad thing is, the movie’s not that old. However, it's more corny than even the most terrible 1970’s disaster flicks. Surely the writer and director must think that average movie-goers are dead from the neck up. How the hell can they earn millions from churning out such utter, utter trash?

'Escape to Victory' was pretty corny. PoW camp football team (including Sly Stallone in goal and people like Pele) takes on Nazi football team, but they plan to escape at half time because some beret-wearing, Gitanes-smoking resistance fighters have tunneled into the changing room. After much soul-searching they decide to go out and play the second half anyway and, if I recall, predictably take an emotional victory right on the final whistle...

I like these films
All of them, even the ones that you have'nt mentioned yet. Volcano, Independence day, War of the Worlds, etc etc etc....
It's the Hollywood blockbuster syndrome. I can't get enough of the big budget, no script, special effects, turn your mind off and enjoy the ride, type of films that always come out in July every year. I find it quite easy to open my mind to any situation and roll with whatever is happening, thus, I generally really enjoy these type of films.

the Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy movie really sucked, the guys who took over the writing from DA completely missed the point IMHO, most of Douglas's humour was missing, I rekon DA would be spinning in his grave had he believed in that kind of thing.
The way US screen writers like to 're write history' to appease thier insular and ill educated, ignorant home market is sickening for me.

it is a so much better film than WofW which I had the misfortune to have to sit through on Sunday. Surely "Plan 9 From Outer Space" has never been bettered (if that is indeed the correct word)? I haven't ever got round to watching it though, so I can't comment.
From personal experience I'd say that "Star Slammer" (aka. "Prison Ship" ) has to be the worst movie I've ever seen. Despite the promise of lesbian guards.
