Garage has power and will have ethernet.
The rest of the house is good coverage from the BT hub.

What is the best way to extend the wifi to the garage so there's a seamless handover as I move from house to garage please?

As you are using the BT Hub anyway I would imagine that the BT Disc approach would probably work best for your needs

This is what I did and works fine for me. My garage is in the back garden and I use it as an office so the wi-fi is good enough for my laptop, printer, phone and music streamer.

Get one of those thingies, you plug it into a power socket in the house, connect it to the router, plug a similar device in the garage and cable to the PC, sorry are you after wi-fi if so ignore my ramblings.

This has worked well for me, successfully extending through load-retaining breezeblock.
