Gifting Xbox live to a different country

I was hoping to buy my nephew a subscription for his Xbox, I'm based in the US and he lives in England. Looking online that isn't possible but wondered if there were any ways around this?

CD Keys, buy an EU Membership and send your nephew the code;

Could you just buy him a UK Xbox Gift Card instead so he can buy Gold Live from the Xbox Store, or go to cdkeys.com and buy him the EU Gold Live membership from them, cheaper than the Xbox Store too.

Yep, the UK's still part of the EU region as far as Microsoft are concerned for Xbox.
