I moved my office to find that my AWESOME photo of the finish of the 1969 LeMans is missing (they stole a great picture!).
I tried LAT and they have a print where the GT40 is blocked by a guy waving his hat. Not worth the $$.
Does anyone know where to track down a copy suitable for framing of the 1969 LeMans finish?

I can't help you but can you post a link if you find something? I was born in 1969 and really want a Le Mans picture from that year but the 1969 poster isn't nice at all!

Happy hunting!

Shadytree, that is the staged finish to 1966 LeMans.

The 1969 LeMans was a great race that pitted the POrsche 908 against the GT40 with the GT40 winning. I'm sure everyone knows that, but it felt good writing it!

jpf,

Try these guys; www.autotrend.com/

I've used them several times for orignal 70's Porsche racing posters. They've always been great and the orders only take a few days to come through, the condition of prints and posters has always been very good.

Do watch out for US excise duty though as this will be on top of any purchase price.

Hey seeing as your in the US this probably wont apply.

Simon.

Dinkel, where did you get your photo?

I have tried Washington Photo in France--no luck.

Any help you could offer would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you read the letters from the copyright issues on that guys site? They may be right, but a bit harsh all the same.

You know, Dinkel, I have had no success so far. The picture from the Roaring Forties website doesn't say where the picture came from.
Just purchased the Ford That Beat Ferrari, so maybe there will be some luck there.
Did send an e-mail to Mr. Ickyx's daughter--no response (not surprised as I'm a mere plebe). The gentleman who's site is in Czech (I think) never responded, but then again, I don't know Czech so I can't blame him.
I'll keep grinding along...
If anyone can throw me a lead, I'd be forever grateful.

Phew, pretty hard case . . . amazing really to have so much trouble finding the proper pics.

There should be a database or something.

Have you tried LAT photographic (part of haymarket) or Ferret photographic? - both are excellent resources..

Actually, Ford sent me a digital image of the finish but it wasn't as nice as yours (in color) Dinkel or as complete as the black and white image at the Roaring 40's website (gotta have the Esso man in piccie!).
LAT had a photo with a guys hand blocking a good chunk of the picture--it happens.
I even have the re-issued The Ford That Beat Ferrari and they don't have decent photos of the 1969 LeMans.
I'm going to try the Ferret...
I appreciate your help. I am surprised how tough it has been to find a suitable for framing photo!
