Just off the back of another thread there seems to be open season on various TV 'personalities'

Paddy McGuinness
Greg Wallace
James Corden

Really don't understand the vitriol - is it jealousy that someone mildly talented got a break and you didn't? Is it just (subjectively) over exposure? Are they just 'over enthusiastic' (which I'd far rather see than some miserable bugger)?

Don't mind Paddy McGuinness or Gregg Wallace to be honest, can't say I'm that keen or Corden, just find him irritating.

The only 'tv personaity' I have an irrational loathing of is David Walliams. He makes me sick.

Wallace & McGuinness are harmless.

Corden is widely regarded as being a deeply unpleasant individual and it doesn’t take much digging to find multiple examples of his ‘personality’.

I wouldn’t say I ‘hate’ these people but they’re some of the people who just seem to pop up every five minutes in something or other and I’d just rather see less of them, Scarlett Moffat and Steph McGovern being other examples.

Oh and the way Greg W says “sauce” does my head in smile

Do people watch someone they hate? I wouldn't. As for 'vitriol', have a read of the Katie Price thread in S,P&L; what I've read here is nothing by comparison with that.

I find Gregg Wallace and Paddy McGuinness 'irritating', several others too. It's just too bad they present interesting programmes.

Jealousy and dented ego’s I would say. I remember as a kid hating Jaguars, it was actually just me being stupid as I thought jags were better than my dads BMW. I can see that now as an adult but some people’s emotional intelligence doesn’t ever mature.

I can't understand why you can't understand it.

Some people hate each other and get on each others tits, it's not a new concept, nor is it confined to humans.

A thread for you here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Just wait till I get going on Sarah Beeny.

Oh oops, I already did and people couldn't understand that either hehe

Here's a drunk Patrick Stewart telling off James Corden at an awards ceremony.

Graham fking Norton. The way he derided Henry C over his link to Warhammer was uncalled for. Graham is prize berk with his head so far up his own rear.

It's all very subjective. I don't mind GW and JC, in fact I generally like most of JCs stuff.

GW in his series about factories and how food is made is also very onteresting I've found.

PM I can take or leave, hes ok on TG but i saw him in skmetjing with Keith Lemon the other day and turned it off pretty quick.

I don’t hate Paddy, I just don’t like his style of tv presenting to a point where I’ll forward wind any bits with him in it or just not watch at all.

James Corden and Gregg Wallace are ok

Interesting choice of three people. They all share a certain... bumptiousness... which some people find objectionable.

I'd add Jamie Oliver to the list.

James Corden has a reputation for being an absolute thunder ****. Many, many people that have met him professionally and socially tend to report he's an absolute ****.

But he's a rich one, so crack on.

Kathryn Ryan.

Limited talent as a "comedian, writer, presenter and actress" as her CV bills her, but my goodness is she over-exposed. At one point I said to someone she's the type of celeb who would turn up for the opening of a crisp-packet, and I swear the very next day she was appearing on Facebook ads for Walkers crisps.

Why does it have to come down to jealousy etc and not just that some people might not like them?
Bizarre to say that just because you don't understand it.

I for example can't stand Tim Lovejoy.
