There's an intermittent issue with the locking of the rear offside door on my F30 320 which I discovered when I did an OCD check after locking the car! The 'button' popped down but the door opened! It only does this occasionally but today I took the actuator out to see if there were any cables/levers etc which were sticking, all seemed good.

I think I'll get a new actuator but I wondered if it would need to be coded in to the car?

No coding needed.

Great, cheers.

Would you go for a genuine BMW part or after market? My gut feeling is genuine.

Morning all!

I purchased and fitted an original BMW lock to replace the faulty actuator, it was quite an easy job to do in fact! It now works fine.

Anyway, yesterday morning I performed an OCD check on the rear nearside door and that too has now started to fail as it opened when the pin was down. Is this a common problem people aren't aware of as I can't imagine most people aren't as paranoid as me to make sure their vehicle is locked?!
