For me, it’s Jane Weaver ‘Flock’, but would be interested in other opinions (understanding people have different tastes).

Status Quo - Live At The NEC.

Oh you meant THIS YEAR. Absolutely no idea. Who has done an album this year? They're all pointless these days. Remember when we used to get excited about a new album? These days it's just Jazzy D featuring Skizzzy F

Not listened to a lot of brand-new stuff this year so I'll go with the below (which is great)

Either Wolf Alice, the Black Keys or the War on Drugs for me I think.

Tell us you're in your 70s without telling us you're in your 70s! wink

Imminence - Heaven in Hiding

Only downside is that it ends too soon

The Wildhearts - 21st century Love Songs

Probably the best collection they've ever put together, and definitely the best since the mid 90s.

I haven't bought too much new stuff this year, however:

Purple Disco Machine - Exotica

A surprisingly capable selection of tracks.

An Overview on Phenomenal Nature - Cassandra Jenkins

At a smidge over 30mins and just 7 tracks it's a little gem. Very much an album rather than a collection of songs.

'Hard Drive' is the piece of the album with its multiple spoken word stories slowly leading to the vocal hook over an increasingly urgent soundscape.

and a great live version.

I'm very much looking forward to the opportunity of seeing her live when the world is less censoreded up.

I'm going to plump for an unlikely choice for a 42 year old man - Sour by Olivia Rodrigo. It's a very, very good pop record.
