Tamora serviced - nice one!
Discussion
Well, I've bitten the bullet, and the Tamora had it's 18000 mile service, ready for Megahoon. Good work from HHC - the car failed it's MOT on emissions!
It neede a new engine mount, they've replace the radiator fan relay - because it's in an aluminium casing, which is screwed to the body at both ends, and with the repeated heating and cooling cycles of the engine, it expands and contracts, eventually buckling and breaking ->overheating! So get it checked at each service.
They've retuned the engine - and what a difference! before it was stalling when cold, spluttering, hesitant and generally running rough - now it's so smooth, quieter, pulls more strongly, and the emissions are sorted.
It's also had new wiper blades, loose heater fan cable sorted out (the fan works now without me diving under the dashboard). New rear brake pads. All in all a thoroughly fettled car. :D New tyres go on next week (Goodyear Eagle GSD3s), and the car now feels better than new. It turned out to be less than £1k, which whilst a lot of money, is a lot less than the £1200 I was expecting.

Good stuff Nubbin!
I was as pleased as you after my 24,000 mile service: for pretty much the first time since I had the car it started without needing me to press the accelerator! That lasted a couple of 1000 miles before reverting back but it still idles when cold better now.
Glad you're still enjoying yours!
At 28,000 miles plus mine must be the most stone-chipped Tamora in the country now!
Cheers.... Andrew

I reckon I'm catching you up - mine looks like someone's been flicking white paint at the front end!
think you'll find it is just us veteran's that drive the car that looks like they have just driven through an accident involving a Dulux lorry!!!!!!

LOL, you can count me in also! I had a front respray in March, and it now looks the same as it did before due to driving it so much!!, Do I care, not a jot, will just book it in again next March!

Interesting,my Tam also needed a new engine mount at that service. Common fault?
What was the problem with the emissions?
I don't know - I was only given the "after" results. I think it was probably partially due to using Castrol Magnatec oil - the exhaust was very sooty!
I've heard of engine mounts going before - Probably on the "forward" torque side of the motor - it just shows we're driving them properly!
