with a 1st class stamp at fking 85p Are people getting out of the habit or am i really unpopular because after a recount I have recieved the grand total of 2.

Probably about 40 posted (written by my wife, posted by me) and about the same received so far. Posted them from our place in Ireland where post to the UK is 2Eur per stamp. Kind of took me by surprise when I had to pay at the post office.

Was chatting to my elderly mum at the weekend about this, I took the 4 cards she was posting to the post box and we remembered 35+ years ago, as a child I would count the ~120 cards up on our living room walls.

Obviously as time presses on, people pass away, families grow up and do their own thing and now the digital age means for us, 100+ cards are a distant memory.

Received a couple not many, we always donate money to the dogs home instead of buying cards and on my list of pointless things xmas/birthday/whatever else cards are number 1,2,3 and 4.

Not glitter cards, but I think we've sent about 20 and we have about 20 on the dining cabinet.

We used to send and receive more, but as you get older, well, as I get older, I simply can't be arsed!

1 from the jeweler who sold us a ring for my girlfriends birthday

I haven't sent a single one.

Sent +/-60 this year (24 posted via a stamp the rest hand delivered to locals).

Should add, I don't buy them, I print them.

Can't say how many we'll get this year (too soon), but last year, received 60ish IIRC.

I like cards, decorative and many benefit charities. Favorites get framed and hung in odd corners permanently.

E cards are pretty impersonal.

Can I count cards that arrived at my house but addressed to the previous occupants? I get one each year for the previous owner with family updates etc, they can't be great friends, I've been here 5 years.

I’m hearing from a growing amount of people, that they are dropping Christmas cards from this year, and some have done it for a few years.
I think a few have thought £1 for a stamp and a cheap Tesco card and decided no more.
A mate told me, him, his brother and his parents reckoned up that they had spent £300 on cards alone to one and all between them.

Mine regularly get framed. (The reason I send them - not just a commercial waste of space, but something original and personal).
