Hi everyone,

I’m Alex from Northern Ireland and here is my 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder.

It was running an Honda K20 turbo till I blew it up and decided to completely re-do my engine and do the things I didn’t had a chance to do before.

I’m currently waiting delivery of my JDM K24A as replacement. Will be a non turbo engine with less power but that doesn’t matter at the moment.

Instead I’m spending the turbo money on other things.

One of the changes I made compare to my previous engine is that I’m using the Honda shifter now instead of Toyota shifter system and an adaptor. Hopefully this will make the car more fun to drive.

Also Wheel fitment should be resolved after the winter and lowering the car as well.
Spoiler Will move from trunk to chassis.

And a lot of other things!

So here are the little changes I have been doing today, yes they may not be major but it all makes a difference

K-Tuned Shifter with custom US Import shifter cables and base plate to fit my car

Test fit the new custom shifter bracket and purple washers around the gearbox

Looks like it'll be a great go-kart with a much better engine than it came from factory wink

Thats great. Did you originally use a kit to fit the K series?

I used the Mitch auto parts adaptor, shifter and mounts.

Still use the adaptor and mounts but now I use a different shifter bracket

Swapped over everything I could do so far, swapped automatic flywheel to manual and stage 4 clutch.
Now I need to put the gearbox one the car (if dry) and hoist it in place

I have the same engine. JDM K24. Swapped the head for a K20a2 and just having some Drag Cartel drop in cams fitted.

Shame that you’re not going boosted again. I would imagine that was an absolute rocket with a K20 Turbo in it.

It was definitely fun haha but I should be able to get 270hp with the k24 in NA and bit of weight loss so hopefully fun to drive.

May save up for a supercharger later

I’ve got a Rotrex supercharger on my EP3, it’s better than a turbo on the K20 I would say. I think it drives more like the normal NA engine just with a wedge more power!

That’s what I thought indeed. Just a bit chunk of money to save up smile

Cool project,. Wide arch Mr2 with an outstanding engine swap.

How could anyone NOT like this??

I would really really like to experience a K-swapped Mr2.

Depending on how you look at it the mk3 mr-s is the least desirable but potentially the best sports car , in Japan and the US prices have been going mental as people realise they are such a cracking little platform

There's barely anything that doesn't cost 5X as much that fits the M.R 2 layout , building a K20 Elise is likely to be a £20K+ event these days!

Look forward to seeing the progress with this, I'm a big fan of the Fortune kit when it's painted and sitting on the some nice wheels
