Brings back memories of my old VIC20. Mine was European production serial number 13! which sounds great but a week or two after it arriving there was a safety recall on the power pack and it took Commodore 2-3 months to get replacement ones out (and I was a young brat at the time). Still they gave a free 3Kb RAM pack in compensation, and that I seem to remember was over half the cost of the machine (and almost doubled usable memory).

I had a VIC too, and there was a small family electronics and electrical store in town that had a VIC-20 16K RAM Pack in the window, for £229! Three years later it was still in the window, box faded and reduced to £150, but by that time everybody had Spectrums or C64s that I knew.My first was a VIC-20 too, begged for one Christmas as we were using Commodore Pets at school and I understood their version of BASIC.
Long evenings of typing in code from a book/magazine, then the same time again debugging or finding the typing error. Happy days... There were some good games available too, especially when using QuickShot II.
Any names escape me, it's all still tucked away back at the family home.
A friend of mine had a Commodore 64 with a disk drive! Good lord I was jealous.
