Is this the one where his dog tools up to get revenge on the people who killed John Wick?

Maybe having watched the first three the Police may get involved this time.
Surely someone must have complained about the morgues being overloaded?

I am sure it will be a good watch

I’m now realising the one year delay was down to the amount of time required to cgi that finger in every scene biggrin

Trailer looks great

I feel these films have been a downward spiral.

More 'action' perhaps, but worse films.

I'll undoubtedly watch the next one and any others (when they turn up on TV or Netflix), but the first one stands head and shoulders above the other two for me, so I don't have any great hopes for this one.

Part 3 for me was boring, never ending henchmen getting shot in the head. Again and again and again.

Never understood the interest in this film. Always seemed a poor-man's Taken or Jason Bourne?

First one was OK, the rest have been pretty terrible consisting of just fight scene after fight scene with a never ending litany of assailants who all never have any strategy or plan other than to make sure they only ever attack one at a time. For some reason watching a guy shooting yet another black-clad assassin for the 105th time gets a bit boring.

It's a pretty common trajectory though, the initial film is quite compact and well-balanced, and successive sequels have to try to keep upping the ante somehow so you end up with better set-pieces but worse films overall.

For me the final fight sequence in the third one with the two little guys and then the bald guy is probably the best segment across all three films. I'm looking forward to the next one, but it's just going to be an increasingly threadbare plot tying some spectacular fights together, and I'm fine with that.

Strangely I couldn't disagree more about the quality of these, I was just commenting having watched the new trailer yesterday that this has to be one of the most consistent film series for quality across all 4. The stunt work in all of them is top tier.

I love that they've actually deepened the story and expanded the world from 2 onwards. Very much looking forward to this one and the TV series they're doing.

I agree that the quality of the action is excellent, the fight scenes are visceral and very well choreographed. The issue I have is that the fights and gunplay are all there is to them.
The first film had a simple plot - a retribution story like Death Wish, Taken etc. The second two have tried to make a story out of nothing so it has become a convoluted mess of conspiracies, double dealing and spiritual mumbo jumbo. In that, it is like the Matrix in trying to stretch a thin story across multiple films and trying to cover the lack of coherent plotting with stylish stuntwork and clever camera work.
I really hope episode 4 is actually a return to form but I fear it will be more straight-to-DVD-bargain-bin fodder.
