Second time in a month I’ve braved the cinema. The first time was worth it.
Just seen the new Matrix film. It’s truly awful. Two people got up and left 30mins before the end. On the plus side it makes Reloaded and Revolutions look like works of genius.
An absolute turd of a film. Incoherent and playing like the result of a survey asking- What parts of the Matrix movies do you like best? Listening to the answers, then baking all those answers into this steaming mess of a film.
How can fight choreography and wire work go backwards in quality after twenty years?
My advice- save your money and treat this as you do Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
No excuse for this film to be this poor after this much development. The dialogue at one point literally has a character explaining that ‘Warner Bros are making this film anyway’ Perhaps trying to be meta. Perhaps an apology from the director smuggled into dialogue.
When the giant robot bird turned up it was like Luke milking the space cow all over again.
