The Christmas bonus thread
Discussion
Anyone got one yet?
We've always had a few hundred quid or vouchers in early December but this year, nothing.
Business has been booming and both directors have moved into large new houses so I'd be surprised if finances are an issue.
The staff have all been grafting hard all year and it's been a bloody tough one with plenty of late nights all round.
We generally get treated really well but the bonus thing is just pissing me off a little, just a gesture would be nice.
I'm sat here waiting like Clark in the National Lampoon Christmas movie...

Reminds me of the old joke where the director turns up in a ferrari and thanks his work force for working really hard.. Telling them if they keep working really hard, maybe next year they might be able to afford him the new model
We all got vouchers in lieu of the Company Xmas party. We don't tend to get a bonus at Xmas - it's usually paid in February (interim) and then a final bonus in May.
My older two kids are working now and it was interesting to see what they got. One is a Solicitor and got a hamper (probably worth £80-£100) the other one works in IT and got a percentage of his salary (about £500),

I get 3 extra days leave (an anniversary benefit I knew about) next year.
And this week informed that everyone is getting an extra 5 days leave (one of which is the extra Bank Holiday addmittedly).
Means I can effectively have 7 full weeks holiday next year. Its gone down very, very well. I'm chuffed to bits!

Yes we got double bonus this year rather than a bigger pay rise, still got 2% which is more than i was expecting and the bonus is a months wage normally so got two this year.
I was happy with just the standard bonus and no pay rise to be honest so everything is good here and we are only in this position because the company exceeded the targets set by Head Office by quite some way apparently.

I've never worked for a business that pays a Christmas bonus but most employers have sent all employees a hamper or goody bag of some sort at this time of year. We got £20 each on the company rewards app this year to be cashed in for shopping vouchers so I've bought a couple of books from Amazon. Can't grumble at that.
