I've just popped into a local car spares, and was recommended this stuff for my Honda Jazz, got home and not to sure now if I should use it, or return it and get the usual branded stuff...

What's the opinion of this?

Thanks

Interesting - the brand has been owned by BP for a loooong time, but I didn't know they were actively using it to sell oil again. Not seen it for years!

Do let us know if the oil is still green, like it used to be...

Edit - turns out BP sold it a while back, so that probably explains it's sudden reappearance in the market.

If it meets the spec required for your car, use it.

Duckhams goes back to 1899 apparently. So just about as long a heritage as you can get in automotive terms - it merely got shelved as an active brand for a while when BP owned them.

If it meets the correct spec, for your car then it will be absolutely fine. Get it poured in and carry on.

Duckhams has been brought back by MOOV Lubricants, and is still top quality stuff and up there with Castrol et al.

Duckhams was one of my favourite oils, back in the 70s and 80s and used in the 1971 Range Rovers that bridged the Darien Gap in Panama, a remarkable feat which I read about in Duckhams News.

All oil is produced to a set standard (you may find some that isn't if you search on Bangood). If you feel the need to pay for pretty labels and made up additives for you old shed feel free. I have always used the cheapest oil available from the local motor factors since I started driving (1981) and all my engines have survived for years without issue. Millions have their cars serviced by their local garage who use any old oil they have in stock, and the roads are not full of cars with wrecked engines. Duckhams will probably be OK
