Hi all,

I put this here because I know quite a few of you dont wander onto the main general chitchat pages.

Basically, Al Melling, the original designer of the Speed 8 and the Speed 6 engines is having a BIG design study/discussion on the 14th of August.

Seats are running out quick, I think as owners of these cars it would be great for all of those who are truly 'TVR enthusiasts' to get to this discussion.

It is hosted by their partners TVRCraft down in Salisbury in the Air Museam, and every technical aspect of these engines will be discussed to enlighten owners, we're all addicts, so I guess this will definitely clue us all up with 'hard facts' for once. Discussions will cover the Speed 8 as well as the Speed 6 - Austec / Joospeed / ACT - I suggest you guys come down too, it will be technically very useful!

Call Dave on 01722 411 118

(seats are running out, so get your tickets booked, its free admission and refreshments will be provided on the day)

[small]can someone make this a sticky on this forum, I would hate to think that hardcore owners will miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to get to meet the designer of our engines and ask our questions.[/small]

Dave said no videoing or tape recording is allowed, but the Spring mag is coming I think and notes are allowed, they will be selling a CD at some point I heard.

Best to turn up bud, I'll see you there... its definitely one of those things which TVR should have done for us enthusiasts - oh and if you car makes 200k without rebuild - your car will probably need to go in a museam, like that 380k BMW 3 series that BMW bought back off the customer for crazy money!

I would say this is pretty brave of Al melling. It might be worth going and watching from the back to see if any of the speed 6 owners walk up and kick him in the nuts.

Are there any spaces left? I sent a mail about it the other week, but I've not heard anything back about whether I've got a place or not......

No problem bud, for an event like this, I would have postponed the holiday! It normally costs a lot of money picking the brains of millionaire designers like Melling, and its a massive advantage for companies like yours, maybe you can send a 'body' to take notes and maybe ask your questions?

I need a bloody holiday too!

Ash you are right, although i don't intend getting involved with the engineering of these engines, this is a great opportunity and yes i do have somebody i know going, but still gutted that i can't and if i canceled my holiday i would'nt be able to walk for month.

People of Al Mellings status are hugely valuable to the small people like us, something I really appreciate as without people like this my company wouldn't exist.
