Just preparing to get the engine in my Chimaera project for the first time in 11 years, and yes I'm priming the oil pump etc.

I just want to turn the engine over by hand a few times by putting a socket on the front of the crank, but the bolt is so far back I can't even see it with the manifolds in the way.

Does anyone know which size socket I need to use? It's a '94 400

I believe 15/16” is the correct size, I used a 24 mm from memory as I didn’t have imperial that size.

Thanks for the replies, had to find my imperial socket set.

Bores inspected with borescope, some oil down the bores, oil pump primed, turned it over by hand, then on the starter, all good so far, there's even a spark and the clutch disengages.

Next step is to put the plugs back in, some fresh fuel in the tank and see what happens.
