Yeah, I'd have to agree. Wasn't sure what to expect before it was released, but it's been a fantastic show so far.
The wife turned to me after last weekend's episode and said "this is my favourite TV show in years". And I don't think she's ever taken to watching western stuff before.
Highly recommended.

I wonder if they will keep it historically accurate.

It started well for me - very well - but I've just watched episode 6 and I think it's lagging a bit now tbh.
There's a LOT of romance. And long fireside conversations about romance.
I'm waiting for some major plot device to happen....
I don't think it's as good as Yellowstone - there just isn't enough happening yet.

This turned out to be a very good TV drama.
9.1/10 on IMDb and 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I will say it is nothing like Yellowstone though, so if you're expecting something like that then this is not it. By a country mile.
It's a very different story, told in a very different style, but worth watching.
It's been confirmed it was a 10-episode limited series, so it's done and the story is told, but if TV drama is your thing then this is very much worthy of a try.

Enjoyed it in the end.
Definitely worth watching.

I thoroughly enjoyed 1883 having never watched an episode of Yellowstone yet. It’s haunting, tragic and very sad - a gritty story that is wonderfully written and executed.
I’ll watch 1923 next, Harrison Ford’s new series, also a prequel to Yellowstone.
I use a VPN to keep access to a subscription service I got in Portugal called SkyShowTime that launched at €2,49/mth for life that includes Paramount+ among others (Universal, Showtime, Sky, DreamWorks etc) so I’ve seen Halo, Tulsa King and the new Star Trek already.

Thanks for mentioning this service, as I'd not heard of it. After a quick google I found it's launching in our region/country next week so gonna give the free trial a whizz and see if they've any launch offers available.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
