I cringe even typing that title...but we now have so many things in the house that need charging it is a serious pain plugging and unplugging different cables. Is there a mat or similar that will charge iphone, sanmsung phone, Sonos, garmin, ear buds, pods, tablets etc?

We use something similar to this. It keeps things tidy and in one place.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08M9G58C1/ref...

mainly so when we go on holiday we don't need to take more than one plug.

I take one of those, but we also end up having to take unique Phone chargers as both phones have fast chargers and those cheap 4 way chargers are anything but fast, However, you can get better 4 way chargers with higher output but they still aren't as fast as my OnePlus Warp 35W Charger

Have a look at the ugreen chargers on amazon. Plenty of fast charge options.

We only have 3 things, 2 Samsung phones and a Samsung watch, so we can plug them all in at night and ready to go by the morning, so how fast they charge doesn't really matter. Not that we've been anywhere since I bought it mind you !

As long as they are all wireless charge just get a couple of things like this and put them in strategic places. This is the first one I found there are bound to bigger and faster charging ones

Is having to ensure all your devices are near your mat any less of a PITA than being near a cable to plug them in....?

I also vote for a multicharger.

I keep one in each room, each with usb c, mini usb and lightening cables attached to cover all our devices.

Anker is a reliable brand. Something like the below.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-5-Port-Charger-Powe...

Just make sure you buy one with Quickcharge so it can supply extra power. Very useful for faster charging times.

A wireless mat won’t work unless your devices support wireless charging. And then I’m not sure there are charging mats large enough to drop multiple iPads and phones onto.

I hardly use the original manufacturers chargers anymore because the multicharger will take up one plug socket and work for all my devices.
