V12 Vantage S - CTEK?

Sort-of duplicating historical threads but nobody specifically addressed V12VS (MY67):

Looking for tips on best method of connecting a CTEK occasionally (not a permanent winter storage system). I'll likely hook it up every so often if it's not been used for a few weeks. Fortunately the bosch ECU seems to help drastically vs older models - on the one occasion it's ever sat for 2 months unused it seems fine, more than that ... not so much (but no issues once going again)

Is there a particular CTEK worth getting? 5 vs 7?

Does the Cig lighter socket stay live when ignition is off? or do i have to get a comfort connector into the rear parcel shelf? (battery is behind the seat, fiddly).

The new vantage's magnetic connector is a lovely idea.

I use the ctek mx5 and connect in the boot which is live , the boot shuts just fine.

Same but, unlike OP’s plan, mine is hooked up whenever not being driven. If it were just for intermittently topping up then I might be tempted by a larger unit.

With tracker and alarm draining the battery constantly, I don’t think I’d be comfortable leaving it “a few weeks” between top ups. To easy to forget and end up with a flat battery.

Mine’s a 2015 MY V12VS. MX 5.0 connected via the boot right hand side. Left on whenever I’m not driving the car. Works perfectly like that.

Thanks chaps, ordered the mxs5 and the cig adaptor for the boot (there’s two cig models but ive gambled on the one that’s in stock - cant identify the diff, fingers crossed)

And another 2015 V12S with MX 5.0, it has worked perfectly since buying the car in October - what fool buys their first Aston at the point in the year when it needs tucked away? Makes a lovely garage ornament though and the anticipation is building!

I don't own a V12 however, I do leave my Vantage on charge whenever I'm not using it.
