Wonder if anyone on here has had experiance of sending money this way. A new supplier is insisting we pay them by this method.

Now I'm a little suspect about the company anyway, they see to be 'too good to be true', which generally means they are too good to be true.

Am I like to be stung with transfering funds?

I would be very wary of someone asking for payment in this way.

This is normally the way most scammers ask for their cash!

Be very very careful.....

It's usually used (in a non-scam way) to transfer money where bank facilities are poor or non-existant.

A reputable business however should have a business bank account and therefore should not need to use Western Union.

If its "too good to be true" and they want payment by "Western Union" then would you really want to do this deal?

Do not send money by Western Union, even if you think the seller is genuine. It's the hallmark of a scammer; they just go to their local office, take the cash and that's it. You might be OK, you might not be.

Thanks guys for your responses.. I'm a big believer in 'if its too good to be true' etc.

You guys have just confirmed my suspicions!

Guess it's back to the drawing board!

Just one thought - if they are a supplier and will supply the goods first, that's OK. It's when they want money up front you should decline.
