How long for inusrance payouts

Does anyone have any experience on how long it should usually take for an insurance company to cough-up the money when the cars a write off.
Following the recent RTA in Cornwall it's looking very likely the Tam's going to the place of unlimited speed, no camera's or camper vans! :(

For me (likewise in Cornwall): about two months for the car and ten months for the injury settlement; all sorted through the RAC. Hope you get what's due.
