Taking a leaf from Labour's good old "How to amuse a Tory for three quid" rulebook... whoops.

How do you know JK Rowling was going to win? And also how do you know that’s the reason for the polling form being pulled?

I can’t see anything in your links other than speculation

Mumsnet are pretty sharp on women's rights stories and there's nothing on there about this story that I can see.

So I'm also skeptical until there's more info.

It looks like a case of twitter speculation turning into ‘fact’.

These polls are daft anyway but what has JK Rowling actually done that would be deserving of ‘person of the year’ anyway?

A few controversial tweets?

I wouldn’t want to disappoint would I.

Rather than making it about me, any point to actually add?

Can it be seen where the Guardian posted an explanation as to why their poll was closed?

I looked but can't see one.

Maybe they're still counting the votes, winner to receive a Lotus sports car.

I also can’t see any evidence that JK Rowling was winning either?

As I say it seems like a blown up twitter story or more rather non-story

Some years ago I was banned from posting on CiF for pointing out to the Guardian, that they had placed an article on the `devastating' effects that air travel had on the environment, right next to another article, exhorting its readers to fly to Hong Kong to sample the meatballs in a floating restaurant there, or to fly to Mexico to experience the vibrant street markets there, or to fly to the East coast of America to see the colours of the trees in the `fall'.
That was such a laugh. but typical of a lefty rag they dont like their mistakes, being pointed out to them! smile

Came into the thread expecting to see him crying.

Left satisfied.

Tbh I would have expected to see some screen grabs of voting progress at dd/mm/yy but then maybe Guardian polls don't run like the hamster powered PH ones.

Didn't personally participate but could easily have voted for Rowling if only because of some of the utter crap and worse she has had put up with recently from total bell ends.

The Guardian page is from the 15th and the article and all the people tweeting seem to be from the 28th.

Are we sure they haven't just closed the poll after a week or whatever?

Well I can’t not let you satisfy your obsession with me.

Crying? You do have a strange way of reading things, what on earth do you think im ‘crying’ about?

Did you have a lovely Christmas?

I don’t think it was a ‘poll’ as such with multiple choice questions was it so it wouldn’t work like that anyway.

It looked more like like an email capture exercise to me.

But it seems a story has been manufactured on twitter to get people all angry and annoyed, and its worked… again.
