Which hand blender?

My trusty Braun 300w hand blender has finally died after getting on for 30 years. It's my most used gadget especially the stick blender and small chopping pot.

But what to replace it with? Braun seems a given, but things may have changed in the intervening years so they may be considered a bit st.

And, given I've managed with 300w, is it worth going for 1000-1200 over the more mundane 700w?
