V12V oil warning light

I get this very occasionally. Sometimes allied to an oil level sensor fault message, which I take to be the real culprit.
Seems to be more likely to occur when I’ve parked on a heavy camber.
Always goes away and is unrelated to the dipstick reading. I now file under “Aston random ghost warnings” and keep my fingers crossed that it’s not a real thing. Ok so far.
ETA: V12VS, but doubting that that makes a huge difference.

Love it - ghost warning lights . You need to get a gen 1 vanquish - you need to keep a code reader in the boot to extinguish the lights
Actually would quite like one of them - range in price from $150k (GBP75k) to $300K for an S (GBP!50K) so will have to wait a while have an F1 in my sights first

Far better this way around than what we had with my daughter's Clio. Every time you start up it goes through a sequence on the dash including the message "Oil Level OK". Checked it and it was off the bottom of the dipstick. Brilliant! "Modern" technology at its worst. Would never have happened in the days of weekly checks which, amazingly, she now does. The engine survived the insult and we've all learnt from it .......

I’ve had the oil warning light illuminate on my V12 Vantage several times over the years. Every time for me it has been just after I’ve refueled the car and started the engine. Every time I’ve noticed that the ground at the pump has been on a slope. Since the car has never been low on oil I’ve decided that the slope has fooled the car into sensing incorrectly.

Same thing happened on my V12V. Was on a fairly hot day thorough the summer after a 40 min run. Car had then been parked for an hour or so and when I restarted to drive home I got the low oil level warning. I was surprised as had only done about 1000 miles since service. Bought a litre of Castrol Edge at first petrol station I got to but when I checked the dipstick it read full. Next day the warning had gone. I put it down to hot engine / hot weather. Haven't seen it again there's now a litre of oil in the boot just in case! Normally use Mobil 1 but I presume Castrol would okay if needed.
i've learned to ignore most of the dashboard warning lights on my aston. when i first bought mine, i took it on a 6000 mile trip and had warning lights pertaining to false air pressure, airbags, seat position, emissions etc. you name it. none of them were real. in fact there was a real problem; the thermostat. but of course, there was nary a peep on the dash about that.
having owned a small company that supplied chrysler with software support for ten years i can say that removing a few "red herring" messages informing owners that their cars needed immediate attention from an approved service center was not on their top ten "to do" list.
