I presume there is some paranoia/mental illness here.

Quite a sad situation when people think they should do things like this.

Surely this isn’t normal behaviour?

Strikes me as someone who gives a toss about her fellow man.

Still, PH is all about the Yin yang and all that.

I don't get it, I thought you had to do a covid test before you boarded a plane?

It's highly unlikely to manifest mid-flight.

Maybe she wanted her 5 minutes of fame?

Executive Decision 2

Steven Seagal delivers life saving COVID treatments midflight using an experimental stealth aircraft.

She felt ill mid-flight and did a LFT. Sounds like someone very on the ball and has respect for her fellow man/woman/lentils.

Or an attention seeker. What did she do when the plane was landing - strap herself to the khazi?

What should she have done?

Waved the LFT around shouting "You'll all get it" whilst calling everyone muzzle wearers for submitting to The Man?

Can't say I get the need people have to film everything but what she did seems pretty reasonable and responsible to me.

Omicron seems to come on fast. I could well believe that this, although an unusual case, could happen.

We've had a couple of people come into work feeling fine, and give a LAMP (a "definitive" test similar to PCR, available at some labs as an alternative) sample when they come in. Then feel unwell during the afternoon, go home, do a lateral flow which is positive. That morning's LAMP comes back later as negative, but a PCR done that evening is positive.

While I understand the gesture, unless the toilet cubicle has a different air supply or the aircraft has spectacular air filtration, she’s just sitting somewhere uncomfortable exhaling into the same environment.

What does transmission look like in an aircraft? (I genuinely have no idea)

I note that technically we’re all exhaling into the same environment all of the time…

Not sure it's possible to isolate on a plane given its a sealed cannister with an air supply

My point is that this woman's behaviour seems totally irrational - you have a sore throat mid-flight, seemingly panic and do a test whilst in the air and then lock yourself in the plane toilet for five hours.

It's completely OTT and odd - seems like the poor thing is so scared of Covid she thinks she has Ebola or the Plague the way she was behaving. Rational (at least in may book) is - you have (presumably) had a pre-flight test, you test when you land and then take precautions. The idea of self-isolating mid-flight is completely bonkers!

Conveniently has a Lft with her too.

I mean, we all carry one of them around with us nowadays.

Surly she was at least double vaccinated and wearing a mask anyway so there was no chance of it being spread to other passengers anyway…

One of the most laughably fake stories I've read in a while. 3 million TT views is all you need to know here.

Either knew she was infected before boarding or the entire thing is a hoax. Has she subsequently had an independent test to confirm she is actually infected as see no mention of it, and faking a positive LFT is hardly difficult?

One hour into a six hour flight she suddenly developed the symptoms of Covid and tested positive?

Strange story to seek attention over.
