Let's talk about your favourite pour over coffee beans. Other pour over chat most welcome too

I started this to seek recommendations for excellent beans for pour over. This was prompted by my regular go to beans of the last 8-10 years increasing in price by 25-33% in the last few weeks. Prior to this prices were pretty flat with occasional small increases. But now they're at £50-60/kg, I think I should be looking at alternatives in my usual 40-45/kg price range. I'm a skint junior doctor and so small increases in price do materially affect me, unfortunately.

Preferred tasting notes are nutty, creamy, chocolatey. Medium roast

I drink my pour over black and without sugar

Don't know what set up you are using but I found switching up to a quality grinder massively improved my results from the most basic set up (Plastic Melitta cone paper filter, jug)

Spiller and Tait signature blend is £20/kg and pretty decent

Rancilio rocky grinder. Could be better but is pretty decent nonetheless.

I use a ceramic cone and pour with a pre warmed cheapo stainless steel jug which came all the way from China for £6 delivered via eBay, pre brexit. Now they don't seem to be available at any price. I brew into a pre warmed cup.

I guess the Rocky is at about the point where diminishing returns kicks in. You'd be able to buy a lot of coffee with the budget for a noticable upgrade
