Back in July i purchased a 2013 BMW 1 series 118d M sport, the car itself came with FSH albeit it's first 3 services up to 2016 done with BMW and the last two up to 2020 done with independents, for what it's worth the car currently sits on 87k.

My question is, would servicing it myself make much difference to the value of the car and retaining all receipts and indicating what's been done in the generic service book i have with the last two independent stamps put in it, or paying for an independent to do it which i know will cost more, but has the stamp placed in the book?

Some might say it's self explanatory, but wondered if anyone else has bothered doing the same thing?

For me a 9 year old car with service history, receipts is/are great, especially as if you do the service it will get done properly?
Lets face it, in another couple of years it is not going to be worth much anyway. on looking at buying cars there appears to be a cliff dive on value on a motor over 100k. For me not a problem as long as it has been serviced! (one of my cars on 260k , service every 10k miles, and runs like a dream)

Yeah that's one big thing for preferring to do it myself, still retaining the receipts and knowing it's been done properly, all filters and oil i can do for around £100, most garages i have asked all want around £230 give or take for the same thing, difference being the stamp in the book.
