Child maintenance and P60's
Discussion
I'm going to start paying child maintenance in Feb, from what I read they will look at my p60 for tax year 20-21 to workout my income however my income in tax year 21-22 is significantly less. Will I end up paying a full year based on my old 20-21 P60 or can I provide evidence later on when I get my 21-22 P60 and get it reduced?
Thanks

They will take your last year's taxable income automatically from HMRC so might make an initial calculation based on last year's calculation; but you will be able to phone through and have a chat and whilst its hard to be optimistic about them, I'm sure they must be used to dealing with this situation and have some process whereby you can prove your income has changed since then.
I can only speak from my experience, but be prepared to have many, many frustrating phone calls with the CMS.
They really are the worst organisation I have had the misfortune to deal with.
Keep records/notes of everything - every call you make, and take the names of the person you are speaking to.
I guarantee You will need them!
Shocking service.
