I know of a handful of recipients who have been honoured in the past as well as in the current announcement, all but one* thoroughly deserving. I think Jeff Stelling said it best in his NYD rant a couple of years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz5qOqNoXPE

Young Tobias Weller is well deserving of his British Empire Medal. At eleven years old, he is now the youngest person to be featured in the New Year Honours List and said he was "chuffed to bits" about that.

Who, did I hear you say?

'Captain Tobias' first started fundraising for his school and a local children's hospice when he was just nine years old and has since completed two marathons and an Ironman course.
It's taken some time for him to achieve his goals because Tobias has cerebral palsy and autism.

I believe what gets up the public's noses is when a war criminal gets a knighthood.
Shameful.

Absolutely. Can’t believe another year has gone by and no PHers have been recognised for Services to Motoring Trivia.

It’s as if people who possess an unusual talent for identifying rear light clusters just aren’t appreciated in our society.

Quire so!

I cannot believe that DickyC has not been honoured, let alone been awarded a Knighthood for his dedication and commitment in so many fields of Trivial endeavour.
