Not married.
Live with girkfriend.
We own house jointly 50/50.
I paid for house and pay for everything.
She pays her mobile phone and that's it.

I realize if we split, she get's half of house.

However, if we split i would like to buy her out.

Is it possible to force her to sell her half to me?
Would a judge order this if requested?
She could not afford to Buy me out.

What if i needed to receive my 16/17 year old for holidays/visitation etc?
Would that make a difference?

Thanks for any advice.

Why do you say your gf/ex-gf owns half the house? Is her name on the deeds or the mortgage agreement?

If she can't afford to but it then surely all she's interested in is getting half the money - why does she care who buys it?

Or will she resent you buying it and prefers that you have the pain and cost of being forced to buy elsewhere?

How did you get into a situation where she owns half of it without paying for any of it?

Menopause.
Resentment.
Who knows.
Just wanting to know options going forward.

Short answer is yes you can buy her share, Google TLATA. If you want some proper advice one of my friends and former colleagues is a real specialist in that area. She only does TLATA disputes.
