As per the title. Love my svr and not entirely sure I’ll actually go through with it but as it stands a deposit is down on the 300 PS Ultimate variant with all the trimmings and let’s see. Should see the new car in April but not holding my breath.

With a 718 arriving and me loving the GR Yaris I want to stick with the 3 car model, if I went to 2 car I’d have to ditch the Yaris and have thought about the F/L F pace svr but feel like a change. Thus, I want something new and cheaper to run but that I still find ‘cool’ and want to own. Naturally inquisitive re. EV.

F pace approaching 3 years old in the next few months and I don’t fancy running it out of warranty / servicing / MOT / new tires etc. so will chop it in the next couple of months.

So, to the Ioniq, me and the Mrs had a test drive in the bigger 217PS battery rwd version in premium spec. Both really enjoyed the car and it has a lovely airy vibe to the cabin despite panoramic not being an option which was our main concern.

To be honest, I’m not really sure that given the role the car will play It really needs anything more than the 217PS but couldn’t resist.

We did a loop of motorway and roads around Stockport which were poor quality and had speed bumps etc and the car coped fine. Given its main role is to nip in and out of Manchester c. 10 miles per day this was the most important element of the test!

I’ve been researching range for on longer journeys etc which is a slight concern but with having the other 2 cars and not doing too many long journeys I don’t think it’s a great issue for us.

Will surely miss the 5.0 supercharged - it is indeed a master piece but for pootling around and the odd longer journey I can’t see past electric now.

Only real decision was the Ioniq or a povo spec Taycan. Seeing everything you get for standard on the Ioniq really drives home the piss take of Porsche options!

My AWD ioniq replaced the Bentayga sort of - a Toureg R was ordered but was on 14 months delivery so i got a Project 45 I5 on a whim. It’s had some issues but has settled down and is a delight to take anywhere - just jump in.
Will probably get a V8 convertible in the summer & cancel the Treg

Seems to be a common idea. Currently running an eTron 55 but seriously considering downsizing to an i3s as a daily EV and buying a V8/V12 toy with the difference. Wouldn't be without an EV now for the day to day trudge but after 3 years with nothing but, I've come to the conclusion I need the smell of petrol back in my life for a while yet.

I did start trailing through your thread - seemed a bit of a palava but glad all ended. What is the P45 in the Ioniq - guess I missed all that.

Good idea - I’d also recommend you have a go in a v8 F Type!

Also meant to add that I’ve booked in for test drive of the model Y at trafford park in a couple of weeks (would’ve gone sooner but skiing for a week from this weekend.

Can’t imagine I’ll prefer the Tesla as don’t really like the look of them in the videos but worth a look if for no other reason than to (ultimately) rule it out.

Heard the Y had crap suspension but guess it’s all relative and my Jag on 22s isn’t the best ride anyway. Also build quality seems a prevalent complaint around Tesla.

Few extras you can’t get on a normal ultimate plus it was £2k cheaper. The AWD in sport is interesting.
