WI. V Chandler Halderson
Discussion
Another live stream trial from Wisconsin.
Halderson is accused of murdering his parents, dismembering them, scattering their remains across the county.
Unlike the previous trials from Wisconsin this one seems a bit easier for a jury, judging by the prosecution opening statement
it looks like the defence has an everest to climb, the state has a lot of solid evidence that points to guilt.
We shall see.

I thought this was going to be a story about some scandal involving the Womens' Institute. I'm slightly disappointed
(Images of Celia Imrie in "Calendar Girls" were drifting through my mind).
Kindly leave this thread and take your mother fixation with you. (Images of Celia Imrie in "Calendar Girls" were drifting through my mind).
Honestly, the nerve.

It’s an extraordinary case. Halderson is accused of murdering his parents, dismembering them, scattering their remains across the county.

You’d think if his intention was to hide the bodies, leaving bits of them all over the shop is an odd way of doing it! One just increases the number of potential ‘finds’, surely ?

This is zipping along at a fair rate, no long and tedious questioning re an investigating
police officer's training, schooling, promotions, etc, just straight in to the day
they were required to attend the investigation.
Yeah, seems to be a lot easier when the guy on the stand might actually be guilty.police officer's training, schooling, promotions, etc, just straight in to the day

I've cracked it.
His father was so angry at the deceit that he aggressively ran backwards at him. He happened to holding a guy and shot him in self defence.
He decided the best thing to do was to cut his dad's body up before his mum got home.
His mum arrived home, found him cutting his dad's body up, jumped to conclusions and attacked him, during that attack he shot her in self defence.
Clear self defence. No jury would convict. Or errr... something....

Can't imagine anyone will be surprised but guilty on all charges after under 3 hours deliberation.
I thought the defence did a pretty good job given the utterly futile hand they were dealt. (More informed opinion seems to disagree with me!)

tt crazy" plea, or justifiable homicide, killing his parents as punishment for being given the terrible name Chandler, worth a go IMO.
I couldn't see where the defence could find the basis to build any sort of counter
argument to the massive prosecution case.
Frankly the two female lawyers looked uninterested and bored, maybe a case for an appeal,
Chandler was lumbered with substandard counsel.
Either way, he is is going to spend most of his life, or all of it in stir.
What an idiot, just to cover up his serial lying, he kills his parents, rot in hell.

I think he's mentally deficient in more more than one way. Anyone remotely sane would have left home, quick note saying 'bye' and start a new life - at 23 that was going to happen anyway sooner rather than later.

So prison is deffo the right place for him, somone willing to commit double murders leaving massive evidence trails over relatively minor problems isn't safe to be among us.
