Hello. New here.

Assuming the plate cannot be found, what is the MoT limit for a pre 2008 turbo diesel. All I can find is 3m. But that government.uk limit was withdrawn in 2019.

Thanks

Paul

What do you mean by plate? Why not simply ask your local tester? Also, how do you propose to check this yourself prior to taking it there for the MOT? Personally I'd just throw in a bottle of decent cleaner and take it for a few long runs...I used both Liqui Moli cat cleaner and Lucus Upper Cylinder Lubricant to take the engine light off for cat converter working under efficient on a BMW 320 sport coupe, worked a charm.

OK so I know what a plate is now or at least I think I do, are you suggesting you are driving a stolen car?

Page 8-9 are about diesel fast pass and standard tests

Why are you talking about stolen cars and plates?

There’s an ‘ask an MOT tester’ thread on the forums that will probably net you an answer.

It might be worth having an idea about anything at all before posting completely irrelevant and unhelpful replies in the technical section. Nobody came close to mentioning anything about stolen cars; how you got on to that subject I’ll never know.

LOL because the plate confirms what the value should be and op says he may not find it and people take the plate and vin numbers off of stolen cars..

And?

There’s loads of reasons the plate could be unavailable as a source of info; it’s precisely why there’s something in place in the MOT guidelines to cover it.
You’ve picked one and made an intergalactic leap to one then ran with it.

On top of that you’ve still not helped the OP.

The response was perfectly reasonable, given plates can be stolen...

Meh.
