Flexispot standing desk.
Discussion
Does any have any experience with flexispot standing desks. Ive seen them mentioned a few times and people seem to have favourable things to say about them.
From what people say, dual motor are the ones to go for and preferably 3 stage legs over 2 for sturdiness.
Ive been looking at 2 which are only £10 apart after discounts etc.
EB2 is dual motor, but 2 stage legs so doesnt go as low or high, im not overly bothered about maximums as long as its a useable range.

EQ5 is also dual motor but 3 stage legs, but they are reversed and smaller at the bottom which seems a bit wrong way about. goes lower/higher.

the EB2 seems to have 2 bars across the frame which look like they would be a bit sturdier than the EQ5 which is only a single bar across.
Anyone any experience of either or similar?

I got the EQ5 just before Christmas. I've assembled it and it seems to be working well. I haven't played around that much with it yet because I need to get a longer cable for my monitor and I haven't worked from home since I got it.
You can't use the 10% discount for new subscribers on top of the £60 discount code, but still a really good price at £240.
I put a 160cm x 80cm Bekant top on it from Ikea for £60 (I see it's gone up to £70 now), so the whole thing only cost £300.

You can wobble it a bit if you try, but it feels sturdy and stable. Mine is on a suspended timber floor with fairly thick underlay and carpet and it's alright. The supporting bars at each end of the table stick out a long way so unless you had a really flimsy top on it, it should be fine. I have a 24 inch and a 35 inch monitor on it plus some largish desktop speakers.
The Bekant top is quite thin, so probably best to put a washer or two under the supplied screws if you use that top. The table sits on rubber fixings that you screw through. I got away without using an extra washer because I didn't screw it very tightly to compress the rubber much. If I did it again I'd probably get some washers or shorter screws.

I have one, bought on the back of a recommendation by a friend.
In June 2020 the EZ1 was £270 and I bought it with a £50 voucher so £220.
I got a cut off plain white kitchen work surface for £20 from a joiner.
It’s been fine and I’ve not had any issues with it to date.
Got to admit when I first got it I was standing a lot, not so much over the last few months,,,

I've got an E5 (EC5 and EQ5 are the same except the control pad).
I've got the rubberwood top on it, and it's really sturdy. There are two bars across mine, and it never rocks or wobbles. Goes up and down nice and easily. Bloody heavy thing though!
I did the Black Friday deal, and they always have it so you can get the base and a proper wood top for £350 by playing with the original price and the discounted price.

I made the move to a Flexispot frame in December. Seems fine to me for how I use it:

£179
I took the previous desk top and screwed it on.

The only difference I saw between the EC5 and EQ5 was the cross member. the eq5 has the single bar running across:I've got the rubberwood top on it, and it's really sturdy. There are two bars across mine, and it never rocks or wobbles. Goes up and down nice and easily. Bloody heavy thing though!

while the EC5 and the EB2 has the dual bars running across:

I dont know if that would really make a difference to sturdiness at all
I got a sit stand from work from one of the approved suppliers at a cost of ~£1200 to them. I love it and so my other half decided she fancied one and as her co just gave an allowance of £2-300 we thought we'd take a punt on the flexispot one as I'd seen them discounted on hotukdeals a few times with positive feedback. The frame looks almost identical to the one I have, dual motors, 3 stage legs even the plastic end caps look the same the only major difference is the eq5(I think. It's the one with the single crossbar) has memory settings on the control pad and mine just has up and down. We also bought the Ikea Bekant top in 160cmx80cm with oak veneer were as my more expensive one has a very cheap looking/feeling wood effect coating. I was concerned that it might be unstable more that it's sat on carpet than the build quality of the legs which I think are very sturdy and I've not had any - feedback about it.
On hotukdeals I did see some negative comments about the lack of aftersales help but nothing about the quality of the desk. If I had to replace mine I'd be ordering one with the Bekant top for under a quarter of what my firm where charged (Mine was delivered and assembled but I'm more than happy with a trip to the meatball shop and an hour with a screwdriver assembling it to save a few £)

Just quoting this to say it's good advice and I did use washers to prevent the screws from going through the worktop. I bought the EQ3 last year. Paid £200 and got some money back through quidco/topcashback. They seemed to constantly have promotions on that change each week so I waited till it was a good one
Been really impressed with it. Smooth motion, a little wobble when pushed but hardly noticeable when using, very quiet. Putting together was easy.
The memory function is great.
I bought a table top from IKEA (gerton I think it was called)

I've got the Flexispot E6, and purchased a 2m X 72cm worktop from House of Worktops. Very happy with it and find it stable despite it being wide and having monitors on arms.
The only thing I'd want it to do better is cable management.
Some pictures, etc of mine are on page 4 of my garage office build thread if interested. (https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=207&t=1940306&p=1#seperator)
