Anyone fitted a discreet ( or not so discreet )boot spoiler to increase downforce ( as opposed to making it look like a piece of Japcrap )?And did it make any difference? Likewise for the front end.Splitter /improved air flow around car ?Wait for backlash from purists!!!
Also, everyone knows that BHP figures are greatly exaggerated by TVR (certainly on the RV8 )so if engine mods were done and you you never exceeded the quoted power figures by TVR do you actually have to inform your insurance company that you,ve increased the power of your P & J.And would you have a case to fight in court if you denied all knowledge of all modifications and had an accident( Think I already know the answer to this and yes I would )Just wondering what others think!

Front splitter can cause downforce at the front but also increase the lift at the rear. The rear aerodynamics are screwed up by the wake from the cockpit, the only thing that't going to work is either a wing mounted high up above the roof line, or a gurney flap. To be effective the gurney flap would need to be seveal inches high, not exactly subtle.
If you're serious about it, underbody aerodynamics have the potential to be far more effective, but it's a waste of time unless done properly and not easy to do properly. To be honest aerodynamics are only going to make a significant difference at thre figure speeds, and unless you're after every fraction of grip for competitive purposes it isn't going to make enough difference to matter. If you *are* competing then you'll know that most forms of motorsport are governed by strict tech regs that restrict aerodynamic mods.
