Looking at my scuttle it has a clip either side and 1 left of centre,I would’ve thought there’d be another right of centre. Should there be 4 in total?
Anyway, any ideas for what I can use to replace them?

I've only got the ones left and right, with some rubber plugs/knobs in the middle and then the two screws which I've replaced with ones you can unde with fingers.
Make sure you run a small thin layer of sealant along the top edge and let it dry. It stops any scratching of paintwork when you put on/take off the skuttle.

One either side.

I can make some for you should you not be able to.

M6 thumb screws for the two fixings.

The damage is already done,I’m going to get the wiper panel repainted, the rivet ends have chipped off but it should disappear under the screen trim.
I’ve ordered thumbscrews, they’ll be great.
Good idea with the silicone 👍

I think the extra clip was to compensate for the big splodges of silkaflex which was adding to bonnet woes. Now I’m sorting it out but not in these chilly temps. I’m wondering if the wiper panel gets a bit of silkaflex where it goes over the black bulkhead area. I would imagine it’s essential, it’s not like it’ll be coming off again.

That’s very kind, Im hoping I’ll be alright thumbup , there’s a Euro double glazing place nearby that’ll probably have an H section, or a U in black.
I’ve got thumbscrews coming along with stainless screws and cups for the F1 & door cards which I need to get off for my poor old window motor. I wanted to try lubing the runners but the glass hardly goes into them. Ideally I’d like to change them but it’s a low mileage car and they might come round if I try.
Do you know if the wiper panel gets a line of silkaflex or silicone where it goes over the black bulkhead area as there’s a gap at the top near the screen seal. The bulkhead fibreglass seems to have been ground down a fair bit in the central area but it needs a bit more trimming further out to tidy it up, it’s a bodge job really, someone tried sealing the bottom screen trim a few times by the look of it. They didn’t lift the wiper panel up high enough and the trim only just met the panel letting water in. There was huge globs of silkaflex under the scuttle acting as a spacer rofl

I'd like to see a photo of this when you get round to it, mine appears to be a bit loose and I wasn't sure how it was meant to be attached

You say that... but it comes off a lot at times. Obviously servicing for access to the rear of the engine, access to the battery, access to the clutch slave, throttle linkage etc etc so don't glue it on.

Mine were the Steve Heath Red Anodised ones to match my car. If you fit tall ones to the wiper scuttle panel, fit/glue rubber stops on top as the bonnet will then rest on them, giving further help to stop the bonnet vibrating. I have some rubber feet that come with network switches that fit perfectly.

I've just gone and had a better look at mine.

There's two 'clips' bonded to the scuttle that are designed to slide into the area below the windscreen. The drivers side has broken.

My wiper washer cable/pipe is wrapped around the centre hole of the scuttle which means I can't remove it without taking those off first. Does anyone know if these just unclip from the wiper itself? I don't want to try it and then break something.

Same as mine, so you haven’t got any signs of smaller clips more central?

You just pull them off the wiper water tube. You’re as well taking the wipers off and cleaning/replacing the water tubes, they come off fairly easy, mine were full of rubber gunk from the insides of the washer hose. I soaked them in degreaser first.

Nope, no signs of anything more central as far as I can tell. Although I wasn't able to flip it all the way over as I didn't remove it yet. There might have been something there previously. Mine is a 97, built in May

Thanks for the info, I'll unclip them and flip it over.

Was considering ways to repair the clip because it is still all there but there's a crack in it which means it is flopping about. Plastic welding might be a solution 🤔.

I've put joints on, T piece on the passenger side so I can just put the panel slightly out, then pull off the pip there

I didn’t mean silkaflex the scuttle, I mean running a line across the bulkhead/heater matrix (see pic)
I’m not sure if it’s called the cowl or wiper panel.
