Does anyone have a good accountant in London that they would want to recommend? LTD company, PAYE etc
One that knows how to save money, not just fills in forms mindlessly. All legal of course.

I'm sure they do exist but never found one in my experience.

Initially you may get to talk to the main man but you'll soon get pushed down the ranks to the pen pushers.

Think it's a case of you get what you pay for. You'd need to make a lot of savings to justify that £1k an hour chap that can actually make a difference.

Why does the accountant have to be in London?

Because he likes to meet his key players - and also easy to hand over boxes of paperwork?

I was hoping the OP himself might reply as to why he wants his accountant to be physically located in London.

Where is the OP actually located?

Having physical proximity to your accounting services is a lot less important than it used to be - although some clients still prefer it.

They are absolutely useless. frown
Called to make an appointment, left my details with someone - no contact.
5 days later I filled in their contact form, that was a week ago - no contact.

No excuses but this is a very busy period for accountants.

I will always get back to a potential new client within hours. However right now our receptionist will fact find and guide them on the best course of action. Anyone wanting a tax return done will have to go elsewhere unfortunately.

I use this company, and I think they get the balance right - not sure if they're taking on new customers etc. - https://www.goldwins.co.uk/contact-us They're located in north London.
